General Health

Somethings that we can do today that will have a great impact on our health.

General health is a much discussed, but little understood subject. To define our general constitution or health simply put is as defined in Dictionary.com: the general condition of the body or mind with reference to soundness and vigor: good health; poor health or soundness of body or mind; freedom from disease or ailment: to have one's health; to lose one's health.

Your health is effected directly by those with whom you associate. This is your environment and such it effects your health, either mentally or physically. A good example of this is your workplace health and safety. Most of us spend a major portion of our lives in the workplace. If the workplace health and safety environment is good you are most likely going to be healthier. If this environment is not good it will have a negative effect on your health. The stressors in the work place can take a toll on our health.

Also your general health is subject to risk factors that we don't have control over, such as age and family history One of the big risk factors in our lives is one we usually do have control over and that is our personal habits. A person's healthfulness is a result of a complex interaction between the person's basic genetic structure and the world to which that genetic structure is exposed. These are the foods, the toxins, and all those other aspects of the way we live that affect the way our genes are expressed. So it said a person may be born with a propensity or a gene to have some form of cancer, but that doesn't mean it has to happen. Your eating habits, your life style, your mental attitude and where you choose to live can determine which road you body will take.

If we make that decision for healthy living it will not cure all of our ills nor protect us from all the ills, but it will ensure that we will be better prepared for things that may go wrong. Consuming the proper foods and the proper amount of said foods will be a good start toward a decision for healthy living. Exercising properly both physically and mentally is another way to improve our hardiness. Our general health may be less than stellar. but with the proper food, supplementation and exercise we can improve our overall condition.

Somethings that we can do today that will have a great impact on our health are: If you use tobacco products in any form, stop now; If you use alcohol in any form, stop now or a least limit your consumption to no more than one drink per day; Exercise daily, walking is a very good exercise; reduce stressors in our lives; eat properly, fruits and vegetables and fish and less meats.

When you and I understand that proper nutrition and exercise provides a benefit to our lives, but do not put that knowledge into practice, we are on the road to poor health. If your general health is good, then your overall resistance to all illness is good. If you do become infected or diseased your recovery rates are faster if your general health is higher.

Health diet fitness is an important part of life that determines how long we live. If we ignore our health due to poor diet and fitness, we will shorten our life by many years. So remember, health diet fitness.
